Until the end of August 2015, 1760 asylum seekers were living in Erfurt (Thuringia), compared to a total of 689 asylum seekers that were welcomed in the city in 2014. 

This number tends to increase in the rate of 60% for the entire region of Turingia, which draws attention not only for emergency measures, but also request the prioritisation of the topic in the public agenda of the municipality of Erfurt.
